This weeks top 10 (11)





I read 2 web sites that had their own top 10 list which was the top greatest people who came from Minnesota.(here are those links if you want to see them

www.coryhepola.com) So I decided to do a top 10 list of the most famous sport figures from Mn. They were either born in Minnesota, or spent most of their life in Minnesota. That is why Kirby is not on list, he was only living there for 12 yrs.
  1. Dave Winfield (St. Paul) HOF basball player, also played for Gophers
  2. Kevin Mchale (Hibbing) Pro Basketball player, played for Gophers, now coach of Timberwolves
  3. Paul Molitor (St. Paul) HOF baseball player,played for Gophers
  4. Bud Grant played for Gophers, played for the Minneapolis Lakers,coached the Vikings
  5. Sid Hartman part owner of the Mpls Lakers. sports writer for Star Tribune since 1945
  6. Herb Brooks (St. Paul) Hockey coach for Gophers & USA teams
  7. Kent Hrbek (Bloomington) Twins player
  8. Neal Broten (Roseau) played hockey for Gophers, & North Stars,
  9. Joe Mauer (St Paul) Twins player
  10. John Madden (Austin) NFL coach & sports announcer
